Vacation Bible School 2010

At Galactic Blast Vacation Bible School 2010, your cadets will voyage into outer space praising God. Through daily missions, your kids will see space like never before, gain a new perspective on our planet Earth, and learn easy "green" earth tips they can practice at home. This cosmic combination of faith and fun will have your cadets developing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.


Galactic Blast is a production of Cokesbury/Abingdon Press.

In the Jolly Sunday School classroom
Parents and grandparents can preregister their children for VBS that evening. Preregistration will also take place on Mother's Day, Father's Day, and the first three Sundays in July. VBS is for children 4 years old through 6th grade. Every family that preregisters a child will receive a free copy of the Galactic Blast Student Take-Home CD-ROM, featuring 10 VBS songs and five games.

Volunteers are needed not only to be VBS teachers but also to help us prepare for the big week.

Before going to the Sign Up Page, please understand that you need to sign up each child individually for
VBS. The form does not accept multiple names, but you do not need to re-enter information for each child
if it is the same (i.e., home address, phone, etc.)

After you click on Submit, you'll see a results page. From here you can either click IBC VBS to return to the Vacation Bible School page, or you can click the back button on your browser to return to the Sign Up page and enter information for another child. Click on Submit again for each individual.

Session One: The Creation Story
Biblical Connection: Children are reminded of all God
has created - both seen and unseen.
Praise Phrase: Our God is wonderful! Praise God!

Session Two: God is with Elijah at Mt. Horeb
Biblical Connection: Children are reminded that God is always with them just like the moon is always next to the earth, even when it can't be seen.
Praise Phrase: Our God is incredible! Praise God!

Session Three: Jesus knows the woman at the well
Biblical Connection: Children are reminded when they look into a star-filled sky that God has created and knows each star just as God has created and cares for each one of them.
Praise Phrase: Our God is amazing! Praise God!

Session Four: Jesus heals a blind beggar
Biblical Connection: Children are reminded that a comet is nothing more than a dirty snowball in outer space until it comes close to the sun and transforms into a brilliant glow in the sky just as their lives are transformed as they grow into a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Praise Phrase: Our God is magnificent! Praise God!

Session Five: Jesus appears on the road to Emmaus
Biblical Connection: Children learn that a super nova is an exploding star giving birth to new stars just as Jesus' life and resurrection gives new birth to all who believe in him.
Praise Phrase: Our God is awesome! Praise God!
