Immanuel's Senior Adults

The Immanuel Senior Adults meet on the first Tuesday of each month for a program, fellowship, and a meal (usually covered dish).
At the meeting, the visitation committee distributes the names of all of the homebound members with the idea that they will be contacted by a visit, phone call, or card before the next meeting. Keeping in touch with each other is a very important part of the senior adult ministry. Another facet of the senior adult ministry is the travel ministry. Each month an activity is planned for those who wish to participate. Past activities have included attending a play or musical, a visit to a museum, or a day trip to a place of interest. Each year a major trip is planned.

At a recent Senior Adult meeting and luncheon, Immanuelites were entertained by Susan and Jim Hawkins, both deacons at Immanuel. Since Jim works for Southwest Airlines, they chose a flying theme for the program, singing Come Fly with Me, Fly Me to the Moon, I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane, I Left My Heart in San Francisco, and ending with a rousing sing-along of I'll Fly Away.
