Sermon Title:

Coming This Sunday March 25

March 25: Martha, the sister of Mary and Lazarus, was a practical woman.  She is accustomed to the way things commonly work, should work.  But practical people struggle when things go very wrong, i.e. the premature death of a brother.  Martha believes that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, but does not yet believe in his power to give life.  Thus her rejoin, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”  When the world is too much with us and leaves us anxious, belief is vulnerable.

Sermon Title:

Coming This Sunday March 18

March 18: Walking in Jerusalem Jesus observes a man born blind begging.  The disciples inquire as to the cause of the blindness.  Was it the sins of the parents visited on the man or the sins of the fetus in the womb?  Jesus says it is neither, but does not explain the cause of the blindness.  Instead, he says that the man’s illness provided the means that enabled God’s greater power to become apparent.  Yet human suffering has led some to lose their belief in God.

Sermon Title:

Coming This Sunday March 11

March 11: In John 4, the apostle invites readers to gather around Jacob's well and listen in on a conversation between Jesus and a Samaritan woman. While the woman came to the well seeking a temporary fix for her thirst, the Messiah spoke of a spring of water gushing up to eternal life. Join us on Sunday, as we explore this timeless story and seek to worship God in spirit and truth. —Pastor Tambi

Coming This Sunday March 4

March 4: Studying some sacred text by the light of a candle, Nicodemus expanded his search.  He went to Jesus by night.  What started as a bit of “go and see” with a plan to return, became a quest.  The encounter with Jesus set Nicodemus on a path for which there was no return.  He went seeking incontrovertible proof and encountered everlasting life.  Join me Sunday as we explore the theme of starting over. —Pastor Steven
