July 1: If this were a drill, how quickly could you locate Lamentations in the Bible?  If this were an advanced round, could you quote a verse from one of the five poems?  In the three year cycle of suggested readings of scripture known as the Common Lectionary, this Sunday marks one of the rare appearances from Lamentations.  These poems tell the story of a grief that just keeps going, never lets up, and must be lived with daily.  No-end grief can result in bitterness if not met head on.

June 24: This Sunday we will wrap up a monthlong study of Jesus' parables about seeds. In Mark 4:26-29, we find a four-sentence gem of a parable in which the seed is undeniably the star. What is Jesus trying to teach us with this image of a sleeping farmer and a growing seed? Join us as we dig deep into the soil of God's Word.
