Registration is Underway for Operation Inasmuch

Immanuel’s annual Operation Inasmuch emphasis is one of the many ways that our congregation seeks to carry out our mission to wholeheartedly serve those on the margins of society. Because our congregation has determined that feeding the hungry is a primary way that we can achieve that goal, this year the Missions & Ministry Committee decided to focus our efforts during Operation Inasmuch on hunger relief. Our spring observance has also been expanded from a morning of ministry to a week-long emphasis, allowing us to partner with three local ministries that feed the hungry in our community: Luke 14:12, The Nashville Food Project, and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Here’s the schedule of Operation Inasmuch events for the week of March 26-April1:
Sunday, March 26 - Ingathering Sunday benefitting Luke 14:12
Tuesday, March 28 - 12 volunteers needed to serve lunch at Luke 14:12
Wednesday, March 29 - Tallu Quinn, Executive Director of The Nashville Food Project, will be our guest speaker; youth and children will be learning about hunger relief
Thursday, March 30 - 7 volunteers needed to work in The Nashville Food Project’s Wedgewood garden from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Saturday, April 1 - Volunteers can choose from 3 projects: 7 volunteers will do food prep at The Nashville Food Project from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; 7 volunteers will work in one of The Nashville Food Project’s Woodmont Garden from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.; 20 volunteers will sort food at Second Harvest Food Bank from 1:00-4:00 p.m.

For The Nashville Food Project, garden volunteers must be at least 8 years old and food prep volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Second Harvest Food Bank volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Ministry project sign up sheets are posted on the bulletin board near the parlor. You can also email Pastor Tambi at to reserve a spot. The deadline for registering for a project is Wednesday, March 22.
