Welcoming Teenage Refugees

For the past three years, World Relief Nashville has offered an after-school program for teenage refugees who have been identified as academically at risk at two local schools: John Overton Comprehensive High School and Smyrna High School. Last year the Journey program served 77 students, providing them with a place to belong and receive the support they need to grow academically and socially.

On Saturday, August 13, Immanuel will be hosting an event for the high school students who participate in the Journey program to kickoff the new school year. We will gather in Fellowship Hall at 11:00 a.m. for lunch, games, and conversation. The Immanuel Youth will be a part of this event, but we need adults to participate as well. If you are willing to help with this special event, please contact Pastor Tambi at tswiney@ibcnashville.org.
