"Welcome to America" Project

During the month of November, World Relief Nashville is encouraging partner churches to participate in the “Welcome to America” Project. Individuals, families, Sunday School classes, and other groups are encouraged to assemble “Welcome to America” baskets that will be distributed to refugee families during the week of Thanksgiving. Here is a checklist of items that should be included in the basket (all items must be new and full-sized): shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, hairbrush/comb, lotion, deodorant (men’s and women’s), and washcloths. If you would like to participate, follow these simple steps:

  1. Find or purchase a basket to hold your welcome gifts.
  2. Fill the basket with the items on the checklist.
  3. Write a card welcoming the family to America. (Alternative: Have a child draw a picture welcoming the family to America.)
  4. Drop your basket off at the church office by Sunday, November 22.
