Room in the Inn

Room in the Inn’s new logo encourages the Nashville community to embrace Christ’s call to love our neighbors. Immanuel is one of nearly 200 local congregations that extends hospitality to our homeless neighbors each winter. Room in the Inn guests are encouraged to take part in Room in the Inn's comprehensive set of services, including education, health, employment, and housing. By hosting Room in the Inn, Immanuel will do more than simply provide food and shelter to our guests - we will communicate respect, kindness, interracial harmony, safety and security, and unconditional love to our neighbors.

Immanuel will host Room in the Inn on the first and third Thursday nights of the month from November through March. Our first opportunity to host our homeless neighbors will be on November 3. Extending hospitality requires a host of volunteers to prepare and serve meals, provide sack lunches and snacks, set up and clean up, drive the van, serve as overnight hosts, and launder the sheets and towels. Sign up sheets will be posted on the bulletin board near the parlor on October 19. Contact Charlie Lutz or Paul Swiney for more information.
