Conversational English

Since the fall of 2013, Immanuel has been hosting Conversational English classes for refugees through a partnership with World Relief Nashville. Our classes have been funded by missional grants from the Tennessee Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Our classes meet on Monday nights from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in World Relief's apartment at the Highlands Apartments at 4646 Nolensville Pike.

On Monday, March 16, we will launch our next series of Conversational English classes. This series of seven classes will run through April 27. No special skills are required - only a willingness to engage a new neighbor in conversation. This month alone World Relief Nashville will be resettling 37 individuals from Iraq, Bhutan, Syria, and Burma. Please pray for these refugees as the arrive in America, begin to acclimate, and adjust to life in Nashville. Many of the younger refugees have spent their entire lives in refugee camps.

If you are willing to help with any of these seven classes, contact Pastor Tambi at tswiney@ibcnashville.org.
