Children’s Ministry
Sunday school, choir, mission groups, Vacation Bible School, and seasonal events provide the framework for our Children’s ministry. Sunday school teachers lay a strong foundation for faith in Christ by providing age-appropriate activities for all children from infancy through sixth grade. Children age four and under are given loving care during worship by “Extended Care” volunteers.
We have an older and a younger children’s choir, both of which meet on Wednesday evenings before supper. Children learn about God through development of their voices and music skills. The children present several musical programs throughout the year.
Mission Friends, GAs, and RAs meet weekly during the school year at 6:20 p.m. on Wednesdays after Church Family Supper. They study about missionaries around the world and here in the United States. In May there is a recognition service for all the children when they share with the church all they have learned.
Each year our children and many of our adults participate in Vacation Bible School. We have classes for children three years of age through sixth grade. Our youth work as leaders in many of the classes. Children participate in bible study, missions, crafts, and music. They present a program on Thursday night for their parents.
Our other children’s events include: a Fall Festival, an Advent Party, an Easter Egg Hunt and Picnic, Water Night, and Movie Nights. Immanuel Baptist Church provides a safe environment for our children to learn about God and God’s creation.
